Sue Richardson MNAEA, one of the most respected and dare we say liked Estate Agents in the whole of Cornwall, has joined Kernow Property Services as from the 1st of November 2010, adding a vast amount of experience and knowledge to an already very successful team! Kernow Property Services, long established in Cornwall, has in the past few years enjoyed fantastic growth. Founded by Jane Stephens, after her move from teaching in Cornwall, she initially ran the business alone but soon had to recruit!!
Andrew Berry was introduced as a partner some seven years ago having spent 15 years or so in marketing and advertising in London and New Zealand, helping drive the business forward with a natural diversification into the Estate Agency market in 2004 running alongside an enormously successful Lettings and Property Management business.
As a testament to the success of the firm, Kernow Property Services acquired premises in Perranporth in 2008 and now are able to offer coverage as the only firm to have offices in both Truro City and Perranporth, giving a fantastic level of marketing exposure for vendors considering selling in these locations and beyond, with a wide radius of operation undertaken from both centres.
Ben Salter, well known and respected in the Cornish property market joined the firm as a Director in 2008, bringing with him a wealth of experience, flair and knowledge of the Truro, Falmouth and Perranporth market places. Ben spent ten years running both Corporate and Independent Estate Agencies in the City following his move from Bath in 1998, prior to teaming up with his long term friends, Andrew and Jane at KPS and has used this knowledge and expertise to really help accelerate the growth and profile of the firm.
Lorraine Beard also joined the firm in 2008, adding to the existing team of Yvonne Goodfellow being based in the Perranporth Office.
The lettings team includes, Caron Hucknall, Abi Cook. Sam Wilshaw, Sadie White and Amy Lloyd.
2010 and beyond.......
We would invite vendors looking to sell now or indeed at any time in the future to spend just a few minutes looking through our sales section of our website, where we hope you will be impressed with the sheer number of houses that we have either sold, or have agreed subject to contract. At one point in 2009, we actually had 64% of our entire register of both offices agreed subject to contract!!
We anticipate 2010 to be a year of consolidated growth, with prices potentially rising in a more traditional, seasonal way. An area of concern remains the availability of mortgage lending, but we again expect this situation to ease a little over the year. Interest rates remain at an all time low at 0.5%, making it a good time to borrow money if you have the ability, which is an area that has really helped the market during 2009.
We believe that 2010 will be an excellent year in which to sell your home. Many people have perhaps been tempted with a move in 2009 and we would urge those people to take the plunge. One area of difficulty in 2009 for many willing, able and frustrated buyers has been the lack of availability of property to actually buy. We have an enormous number of proceedable, registered buyers with the firm, just waiting for the right property. Many of these buyers are in rented accommodation and are able to offer flexibility in terms of completion dates.
